Every couple of decades, render will wear down and will need to be renewed in order to keep its look and performance. Render degeneration is the main reason of dampness and over time allows moisture to enter into the brickwork underneath and cause further damage and more costly repairs down the line. 

Our team are specialists in the total repair of all types of rendered surfaces, including removal, preparation and rendering. Older types of renders will include cement mixes which can fall away in spots as opposed to gradually in general, meaning it is important to carry out analysis before conducting repairs. In some cases, we can conduct spot repair rendering of these areas, although we advise our clients to do a  total render renewal with a more modern approach with a lime-based render mix.

K-Rend is a newer choice available that our clients can choose in order to render their facades. Where it differs from traditional render is in its breathability, as K-Rend allows water vapour to pass through the substrate, meaning that water doesn’t get trapped in the walls. K-Rend comes in many different colours removing the need to paint following rendering. Our expert team will take the time to discuss the right approach for your project and if K-Rend is suitable.

As part of our façade renovation services, we possess the expertise to carry out remedial repairs to the roofing area of facades. Whether it be re-rendering of parapet walls or removal and repair of fractured flauching, we have the team with the relevant experience to repair these types of work. We also have extensive experience in chimney area restoration works such as repointing & repair of chimney stacks & repair and fixing of new cowls.

We can carefully remove all types of render & stucco in order to bring the facade back to original brickwork. As some variations of render mixes will damage and stick to bricks underneath, we offer brickwork cleaning & restoration services in order to fully restore the original look of the brickwork. It is a major consideration and possibility that when removing render that the brickwork underneath will be in bad condition which can mean further costs because of the probable need to sand blast the brickwork following render removal.

Repointing is the last step in any project involving render removal, our expert repointing team have worked on high end residential and heritage projects all across London and have extensive experience in repointing brickwork in any chosen style and material.
